Hello AMS-179 CLASS: My name is Grace
My relationship to pop culture since COVID-19 has increased more heavily and drastically than ever. It has personally made me more active on Social media. For example I'm usually not one to actively go onto platforms like Twitter or Instagram before, but because of the many events that have taken place it has done nothing, but catch my attention. I know there has been so many negative things, but for me popular culture had actually changed me in a sense that has made me sit with these things and actually become more knowledgeable in return to become more welcoming to learn, improve, and empathize. Popular culture also is teaching me how each platform I go on it is for slightly different purposes: Twitter: reading material that incites the negativity and arguments but ten fold, Instagram: becomes a virtual and image based guidance to people that feel the need to catch up with who they follow and surround themselves with, Youtube: (at least for me) constant distraction (along with many of the streaming services during this time).
